Thai Yoga Massage Weekend Intensive

Thai Yoga Massage Weekend with Elise Foster and Kimberly Preston

Saturday, March 24th: 2pm-8pm
Sunday, March 25th: 12pm-8pm

Event Description:
Thai Yoga Massage is the ancient healing art of Thailand, rooted in the lineages of Yoga, Ayurveda and Buddhism. Thai Yoga Massage combines the traditions of acupressure, energy work, assisted stretching and meditation. It lays the foundation for compassionate touch, receptivity and communication.

Thai yoga is quite different from traditional western massage. Thai yoga massage is done on a mat or soft surface on the floor and are completely clothed. It is often described as "the lazy man's yoga" as it feels like having someone stretch your muscles and gently put your body into yoga poses for you while you are completely relaxed. Connecting breath with movement, much like yoga, givers use their own body weight, gravity, and leverage to stretch or release muscles, making this modality of massage simple and accessible to everyone.

It is also said that practicing Thai yoga massage should be a meditation for the giver, encouraging them to let go of the monkey mind and drop into their own intuition as to what their receiver needs. As one softens into the practice, as a giver or a receiver, you cultivate connection, trust and sensitivity.

During this weekend-long intensive, you can expect to:
- Learn proper body mechanics to keep the giver comfortable and able to give a Thai yoga massage sequence with ease, comfort, and confidence.
- Learn traditional technique.
- Gain transmission of the ancient wisdom of metta (loving kindness) through touch.
- Take home a Thai yoga massage sequence to offer your loved ones.
- Feel restored and surprise yourself with your healing capabilities!

Wear stretchy, comfortable clothing and bring a layer.

No partner necessary! Beginners welcome!
